The GoldenThread refers to the line of string that the three spinners of ancient Greek legend held, representing a persons life. They decided whether it should be cut, entangled or let to hang straight and true. This would directly effect the life span and circumstance of the individual in question.

My creative journey has always been more of a reflection or diary of my actual life. Just as i have had 'entanglements', 'near breakages' and changes of direction so too has my professional practices. My sketchbooks are often as not filled with interesting easter egg wrappers as they are filled with illustrative work. They do not simply show how i came to my final image but how my day went, what i liked, what i didnt, pictures of people i love/loved and anything that i felt inspiration from.



This image was made up of a quote i found in a magazine that matched how i was feeling at the time, (a little overwhelmed) so i stuck it in and drew an eye, it made sense to me at the time. Almost every creative sector (interior design, graphic design, photography and illustration) has been a willing canvas to this way of working.

I am an illustrator who reacts to situations in a visual way, my empathy with others has always stirred up emotion and inspiration that has given my illustrations life and feeling.
